Break no solution - York City boss Martin Foyle

York City manager Martin Foyle believes a mid-season break would not be the answer to fixtures being disrupted by the weather.

Like many other clubs York are facing a fixture backlog because of postponements caused by the weather.

Foyle told BBC Radio York: "You don't know when the snow is going to come or when the ice is going to come.

"If we have a four-week lay off and it comes the month after that, you're still going to hit the same problems."

Foyle said the disruption which has seen York have three games called off has been some of the worst that he has known but he is not too worried about it at the moment.

It's a little breather at the right time

"You have your bad times but we used to play on a lot worse than what's been going around," he said.

"We had to play, whereas obviously players safety and supporters safety are paramount.

"We understand all that but we're not too concerned (about the disruption). It's a little breather at the right time.

"The players have been working hard at the times they've been coming in. They haven't been complaining which is good."
