Clayton McDonald scored the winner nine minutes before time
Walsall's 2-1 victory at high-flying Leeds United will "mean nothing" if they do not get a result on Saturday, according to manager Chris Hutchings.
The Saddlers returned to winning ways in League One courtesy of strikes from Dwayne Mattis and Clayton McDonald, who scored his first professional goal.
"If we don't get a result, this will mean nothing," Hutchings told BBC WM.
"It's a matter of concentrating, recovering and doing all the right things in preparation for Saturday."
The Saddlers boss praised his team's "great character" and recent signing Julian Gray, after the winger's first start since joining on a free transfer after being released by Barnsley.
But ahead of facing Brentford, he added: "We'll just see how far it takes us."
The result left The Saddlers 12 points behind the play-off places and 10 points above the relegation zone, after they became the first visiting team to win a league game at Elland Road since January 2009.
Mattis scored early in the second half for Walsall before Gary McSheffrey equalised, when a speculative shot from wide on the left was horribly misjudged by Clayton Ince.
Hutchings said it was an excellent result following the 1-0 defeat at Oldham and they had to work extremely hard.
"We had to defend very well. We had a couple of chances and obviously we took them, so all credit to the lads for the effort they put in and I felt we rode our luck at times," he said.
"It's in that final third at times that we've been lacking and Julian's come in and I was pleased with him - he set up Dwayne Mattis for a fantastic strike.
"Clayton Ince has held his hand up for the second goal."
McDonald bundled the ball over the line for the winner nine minutes from the end as Leeds failed to clear a corner.
The 21-year-old, who was previously at Manchester City, spoke of his satisfaction about life at Walsall.
"I'm enjoying every minute of it. I'm playing - that's the main thing," he said.
"We're all shattered - [we've] all played a lot of games and it's great to bounce back from Saturday's game [at Oldham] because we weren't as good as what we have been.
"We tried to get on the ball [at Leeds]. We tried to play and we got fully what we deserved. Everyone deserved the win."
Winger Peter Till suffered hamstring strain in the game while striker Darren Byfield was missing due to illness.
