Ronnie Moore backs Les Parry for Tranmere Rovers job
Les Parry took charge of Tranmere after John Barnes was sacked
Former Tranmere boss Ronnie Moore says Les Parry should be given the Rovers manager's job on a full-time basis.
Parry, who was previously the club's physio, was named manager until the end of the season in December and guided Rovers to League One safety.
"I think he has done a fantastic job," Moore told BBC Radio Merseyside.
"They looked certain to go down at one stage so to keep them up is a fantastic achievement. I don't see anyone doing any better than Les."
Parry had worked as physio at Prenton Park for over 20 years but took caretaker charge of the first team following the sacking of John Barnes in October.
"Its difficult when you're the physio and you've got to go in there and become the manager," Moore continued. "As physio you're friend with everybody and as a manger you're everybody's enemy.
"Les is a top-class physio and now he has got to make it as a top-class manager but, with the budget Tranmere have got, it will be a difficult job for anybody who gets it."
Moore, who managed Tranmere between 2006 and 2009, is currently in his second spell in charge of Rotherham.
He will come up against Rovers next season if the Millers beat Dagenham & Redbridge in the League Two play-off final on Sunday.
