Striker Craig Curran ready for important Tranmere games

Tranmere striker Craig Curran says Rovers are at an important stage of the season if they are to survive the drop.

Rovers are just a point from safety after picking up 23 points from their last 14 matches in League One.

"This is the most important time now and we have really got to dig in," Curran, 20, told BBC Radio Merseyside.

"It's no good coming this far and throwing it all away. We need to get out of the relegation zone and push up the table."

Rovers face Leyton Orient at Prenton Park on Saturday, and the last meeting between the sides in the league ended in a 2-1 defeat for Les Parry's side.

Curran admits Tranmere need to win their home games if they are to have the best chance of staying in the division.

"We need to keep winning our home games and keep getting results away," said Curran. "That's how we'll climb out of it with the home games more than the away.

"Our home form has been brilliant and Les was saying we hadn't been beaten at home, before Oldham, for a long time.

"I think our fans have been class. We've been in the relegation zone now since August so they have really been good to us."
