Torquay United continued their preparations for the new Blue Square Premier season with a 7-0 friendly win over Newton Abbot on Tuesday.

The Gulls' next pre-season match is on Saturday when League One side Bristol Rovers are the visitors to Plainmoor.

Manager Paul Buckle told BBC Radio Devon: "There is plenty of competition for places in the squad."

Last weekend Buckle announced their latest signing in the form of 19-year-old winger Mustapha Carayol.
