Swindon can still go up, says Robins defender Rose

Swindon Town full-back Michael Rose still believes his side can earn promotion to the Championship despite currently being sat in 16th spot.

After reaching the League One play-off final last season, Saturday's 5-4 loss at Peterborough leaves them with just four wins from their opening 12 games

But Danny Wilson's men are only four points of the play-off pack and seven adrift of an automatic promotion place.

"I still think we've got a great chance of going up," Rose told BBC Wiltshire.

"We put a few results together and then go off the boil a bit, which we can't keep doing if we want to be up there."

Wilson's side certainly showed great spirit at London Road on Saturday after going three down inside 25 minutes only to fight back to 4-4.

A cruel 93rd minute own goal from unwitting defender Kevin Amankwaah then sealed Swindon's fate. But he insists that, starting with this Saturday's home date against Leyton Orient, his side can bounce back.

"The manager's given us a talking to about Saturday's game," said Amankwaah.

"We're not kids. We know how to listen and move on from it. We're big men and I'm sure we'll bounce back.

"We've kept a lot of clean sheets this season so maybe Saturday was a one-off."
