Rose has signed a two-year contract with Swindon Town
Swindon Town have completed the signing of Michael Rose on a free transfer from Stockport County.
The 27-year-old left-back has signed an initial two-year deal with the option of a third year.
He made 123 appearances for Stockport but spent the second half of last season on loan at Norwich, helping them to the League One title.
Rose told BBC Wiltshire. "You have to go where you enjoy football and I think this is a place where I can do that."
Rose, who started his career as a trainee at Manchester United, also revealed that it was the Swindon manager's influence that helped make his mind up.
He said: "Having met Danny Wilson, he's told me what his plans are for the club and it all sounds really good - the players he's talked about bringing in, his ideas on the game and where the club's going, I couldn't really say no.
"There's a good pitch and a good set of players to get the ball down and start passing it about.
"I like to get forward and get crosses in. I'd like to say I'm a tough tackler but we'll have to wait and see."
