Southend United are set to extend the loan of Swindon Town midfielder Michael Timlin by another month.
Timlin, 27, has played six times in the first month of his loan at Roots Hall, scoring once in the 3-1 League Two win at Hereford in September.
The former Fulham trainee is deputising for injured captain Craig Easton.
Blues boss Paul Sturrock confirmed to BBC Essex that his loan would be extended following Saturday's 2-0 home defeat by Crewe.
Timlin played under Sturrock when he was manager of Swindon in the 2006/07 season.
He was allowed to leave the League One side on loan after making just two appearances in the first month of the season.
