Robins look at Senegalese striker

Wilson currently has just one fit senior striker at Swindon

Senegalese striker Mouhamadou Seye is on trial at Swindon this week, BBC Wiltshire understands.

Seye, 20, has scored 21 goals in 70 games in the Slovak Premier League and is the latest target in Town's search for a replacement for Simon Cox.

Swindon manager Danny Wilson told BBC Wiltshire it is likely to take a six-figure fee to bring him to the club.

"It really depends on the price and how the deal is set up, I think that will be a major factor."

Wilson says Seye, who plays for Dukla Banksa Bystrika in Slovakia, had a similar trial at French Ligue One side Grenoble and is being chased by other teams throughout Europe, including Championship sides.

"We know there are lots of clubs looking at him, but we've got a bit of a head start on them by getting the lad here."

Seye is unable to play in any of Swindon's pre-season games because he is under contract in Slovakia.

Wilson says that makes the decision on what, if anything, to offer for him much harder to make.

"Is he worth the price when you've only been able to see him training? That's a big gamble.

"It really depends on whether something is so obvious that you can see it in training, if there are any major doubts, then it won't happen," he added.

"The good thing is he's such a young boy, only 20 years old and he's had a smile on his face since he's been over here, so you can look at that however you want to take it."
