Swindon manager Maurice Malpas has called on his players to enhance their reputations by defeating QPR in the Carling Cup.

Malpas told BBC Points West that Tuesday's fixture is a great opportunity for his squad.

"It's important for our players, good for [their] reputations, CVs," he said.

"We're playing a Championship side and if they manage to play well against that opposition it does help development," added Malpas.

"If you can get a cup run it breeds confidence. We'll treat it like any other league game.

"The big carrot at the end of it is to be in the next round and see who we get drawn against."
