Swindon have signed left-back Kasali Yinka Casal from Dutch side FC Cambuur on a two-year deal for an undisclosed fee, after a successful trial.

The London-born Nigerian, 20, started his career at Fulham before spells at MLS side DC United and Cambuur.

"The thing that really caught me when I spoke to him initially was his eagerness to come and play," manager Maurice Malpas told BBC Radio Swindon.

"There was nothing about money, the only thing he wanted was to come back."

Yinka Casal told the club website: "It's great to be back [in England]. I hope the Swindon fans get to see a lot of me.

"The manager [Maurice Malpas] has been fantastic and I'm looking forward to improving my game."

Yinka Casal is looking forward to playing with fellow Londoners Michael Timlin and Anthony McNamee at the County Ground.

"The squad seems in great shape and I know a few of the lads already, such as Timms and Macca.

"I am an attack-minded full-back and have a bit of pace, hopefully I can use that to good effect."

Yinka Casal could be involved when Swindon host Tranmere in Saturday's opening round of League One fixtures.

"I have been travelling for the last couple of days but now I am here I want to get straight to it.

"If the manager gives me the call then it would be great to be involved at the weekend."
