Stoke City coach Mark O'Connor is delighted with the club's transfer dealings during the summer window.

In total, the Potters spent around 20m on 10 players, with Danny Higginbotham, Tom Soares and Michael Tonge signing on deadline day on 1 September.

O'Connor told BBC Radio Stoke: "You want to make your squad stronger.

"Getting Danny back is a bonus, the other two were players that we looked at while we were in the Championship. They're good additions."

Despite a big overhaul of playing staff in the summer, O'Connor has not ruled out more new faces arriving in the January transfer window.

"By the time January comes around, hopefully we'll have another two or three new players," he said.

Following the frantic activity of deadline day and the international break O'Connor says minds are now focused on taking three points against Everton on Sunday.

"You're always looking at the next game, that's the same at any club.

"We've got a squad of players that we need to get ready for the Everton game, and to get those three points that we badly need."
