Southport midfielder Matty McGinn confident of survival
McGinn moved to Southport from rivals Burscough in 2008
Southport midfielder Matty McGinn believes the club can survive in the Blue Square Bet Premier.
The Sandgrounders are in the relegation zone, two points from safety, and are without a league win since 2 October.
"The character shown by the lads has been brilliant and up to now I think we've done really well," McGinn told BBC Radio Merseyside.
"We just need to stick together and if everyone gives 100%, at the end of the season we'll be fine."
Southport have been without a league game since their 2-0 defeat by York City on 23 November and are yet to give a debut to former Everton trainee and recent signing John Paul Kissock.
But McGinn says the midfielder has already had an impact in his short time at Haig Avenue.
"He's been brilliant in training," the 27-year-old continued. "He's looking really sharp and he has great skill.
"But you just want to see him play now as he's been with us for a couple of weeks. Let's hope he can get a shirt on and get on the pitch soon."
