Southport manager Liam Watson believes a consistent John Paul Kissock could add some attacking guile to his side.
The former Everton trainee arrived on a non-contract basis from Vodkat League side Formby on Wednesday.
"He's got fantastic creativity and he's got unbelievable feet," Watson told BBC Radio Merseyside.
"He hasn't done it on a consistent level. That's my job to get it out of him and, if I do, I'm going to have one hell of a player."
Kissock has had a somewhat nomadic career, having two spells in the SPL with Gretna and Hamilton.
In addition, he enjoyed two spells on loan at Accrington Stanley.
Watson believes that it is now his task to help Kissock put down roots at a club.
"He's bubbly, he's nice and bright, so he has all the attributes to make him popular," Watson added.
"If we can get out the ability, which he's obviously got in abundance, he could be a real find."
Further contract negotiations between Kissock and Southport are planned in the new year.
