Liverpool's home game against Fulham has been postponed due to the icy conditions around Anfield.

Around 10 inches of snow fell overnight in the north-west of England and temperatures were forecast to be at -6C for the 1730 kick-off on Merseyside.

The game was called off after club officials met with the police.

"Although the pitch is playable, the conditions around the ground are such that the decision was taken to postpone the game," confirmed a club spokesman.
