Southend have signed strikers Jack Midson and Antonio German on loan from Oxford and QPR respectively.
Ex-Histon forward Midson, 27, has signed until 29 December after scoring three goals in 11 appearances for the U's this season.
Former Aldershot loanee German, 18, joins the Blues on a one-month deal having made three substitute appearance for Rangers this season.
They could make their debuts in the FA Cup on Saturday against Macclesfield.
Oxford boss Chris Wilder told BBC Oxford: "[Midson] has been battling with James Constable for his position.
"He's honest and hard working but we felt we had to change it about. We're looking for people in that position ourselves. He goes with our blessing.
He'll play five or six games for them and that will stand him in really good stead

"We circulated a few names and Southend through [assistant boss] Tommy Widdrington, who knew Midson from their non-league days got in touch, and decided to take a chance on Jack."
And QPR manager Neil Warnock said a number of clubs were interested in German.
He told QPR's official website: "I want him to get some serious game time under his belt and he'll get that at Southend.
"He'll play five or six games for them and that will stand him in really good stead."
