Oxford United striker Jack Midson will miss his sister's wedding to take part in the U's first game of the season.
The 26-year-old former Histon forward says even family nuptials will not keep him away from Saturday's match against York City at the Kassam Stadium.
"It happened to fall on that day so I can't make it. But I am happy the game's at home so I can shoot straight down there", Midson told BBC Oxford.
"I'll be there for the evening but it's important we get off to a good start."
He added: "We need three points. We need to make our home ground a fortress."
BBC Oxford has full match commentary of Oxford United v York City on Saturday, 8 August (kick-off 1500 BST) on 95.2FM in Oxfordshire and at bbc.co.uk/oxford
