Green relishing return to Oxford

Oxford United striker Matt Green says he will give 100% to prove his worth to fans after returning to the club where he spent two loan spells in 2007/08.

The 22-year-old, who is on a year-long loan from Torquay, says he made the right decision to return to Oxford.

"I love it here and I have settled really well," said Green, who turned down a permanent move to the Kassam when he left Cardiff for Torquay.

"I have good friends here and I am looking forward to doing the business."

Green faces stiff competition for first-team football from James Constable and Jack Midson but says he is prepared to earn his place.

"All you can do is to keep working at your game, working hard and training hard - giving it all you can," he said.

"We have great team spirit, everyone knows we have great quality and as long as we are getting the results on the pitch that's what counts."
