Oxford United have clinched the season-long loan signing of Torquay striker Matt Green, who has apologised for snubbing the U's 12 months ago.
The 22-year-old scored 10 goals in 21 games during two loan spells at Oxford from Cardiff in 2007/08, but turned down a permanent move to join Torquay.
He was used as a wide player for many of his 29 appearances for the Gulls last season, netting four times.
He told BBC Oxford: "I think the way I went about things was disrespectful."
He continued: "The fans always looked after me when I was here before they always gave me a great reception and had some mad song about me.
"The supporters have got nothing to be worried about. I am an Oxford United player now and I am here to do the business for them."
Green's decision to join Torquay was met with anger by Oxford fans.
He was accused of a "lack of respect" by then-U's manager Darren Patterson, who claimed Green had verbally agreed to join Oxford.
And he admitted he moved to Plainmoor because they offered him more money than Oxford.
He played three times against Oxford last season, including the 2-0 FA Cup victory which led to Patterson's sacking.
Green becomes Oxford's ninth summer signing, after the permanent arrivals of James Constable, Mark Creighton, Jack Midson, Dannie Bulman, Alex Rhodes, Ryan Clarke, Marcus Kelly and Adam Chapman.
Meanwhile, striker Matthew Barnes-Homer, who had been strongly linked to the U's this summer, has signed a new deal with Blue Square Premier rivals Kidderminster Harriers.
