Oxford's transfer-listed attacker Sam Deering may still have a future at the club according to boss Chris Wilder.
The 19-year-old was told he could look for a new club last month but was recalled to the squad against Torquay.
Wilder said: "This may have given him a wake up call to say get your finger out and get in on time and work hard like a decent young professional.
"He has to realise what he has here and if he does that he will be a decent player for us and he'll continue."
Deering has made seven appearances for Oxford during the current campaign, all from the substitutes bench.
