Deering vital to Oxford - Wilder

Deering is seen as one of Oxford's biggest young talents

Oxford winger Sam Deering has a massive part to play in their promotion push but will be sent out on loan first, according to manager Chris Wilder.

The 18-year-old has not played since breaking a leg in December.

"He is part of my plans - big time. He's done great to get over a very serious injury," said Wilder.

"He will go out and play a few games but when he comes back he will be knocking on the door and he will be putting pressure on the first team."

Deering broke his leg on Boxing Day in Wilder's first game in charge and has not played a competitive match in 2009.

He was Oxford's stand-out player in the first half of last season but his spell on the sidelines coincided with United's revival in former under Wilder.
