Southend United central defender Peter Clarke says he is open to signing a new contract to stay at Roots Hall.
The 27-year-old's contract ends this summer, and he dismissed rumours that he had rejected talks over a new deal.
"I've never asked to leave and I'm not actively seeking to leave the club so we shall see what comes to pass in the coming weeks," he told BBC Essex.
"I don't know what the chairman has got in mind, I'm just waiting for him to come and speak to me."
Clarke was voted the club's player of the season, having been an ever-present in the club's back four which saw them to an eighth-placed finish in League One.
He also scored the Shrimpers' equaliser against Chelsea in the third round of the FA Cup.
Of the accolade he said: "It's always nice to get personal recognition, but I think it's down to the rest of the lads who have worked hard throughout the rest of the season.
"I've just done what I'm there to do really, but to win the award is brilliant."
