Daggers boss sees bright future

John Still
Still believes his side have done a 'phenomenal job' to finish eighth

Dagenham & Redbridge manager John Still believes his side can improve on their eighth-placed finish in League Two.

Despite just missing out on the final play-off spot to Shrewsbury, the Daggers achieved their highest league position in the club's history.

Still told BBC Essex: "I'm so proud of the players and this football club to have come as far as it's come.

"It's been a learning curve for lots of the players, but every year we get better, so roll on next season."

The south-Essex club missed the play-offs by a single point after losing 2-1 to their closest rivals on the final day of the season, but did finish the campaign as the league's top-scorers.

Still said he was unconcerned their success would have a negative effect on next season, with the possibility of other clubs coming in for his best players during the off-season.

"Over the past few years, we've sold players at regular intervals and kept going," he said.

"So as far as I'm concerned it's business as usual and we'll carry on going, carry on doing what we're doing and carry on being proud of what we achieve."
