Zola has been the subject of interest from five of Crewe's League Two rivals
Crewe striker Calvin Zola has again turned down a move to Shrewsbury Town, despite being made an improved offer.
Shrewsbury initially tried to land Zola on loan last week, only to be told he was after a more permanent deal.
Town went back with a £50,000 offer to bring Zola in on emergency loan, ahead of signing a two-and-a-half year deal.
But Zola, who has also rejected moves to Burton, Southend and Bradford and is now interesting Northampton Town, has turned down this new offer too.
"Having agreed an emergency loan and then a permanent one from January, we failed to reach agreement with Zola," said Town boss Graham Turner.
Shrewsbury will now look elsewhere in a bid to sharpen up an attack who have scored just one goal in their last four games.
Town have now gone five games without a win, including the Johnstone's Paint Trophy exit at Bury, to fall to fifth in League Two - two points shy of the automatic promotion places.
Zola, the Alex's 18-goal top scorer last term, has scored just one goal in eight appearances this season.
