Shrewsbury have sent Joss Labadie back to West Brom early

Angry Shrewsbury boss Paul Simpson has released Joss Labadie and transfer-listed Kris Bright and Nathan Elder after the shock FA Cup loss to Staines.

Labadie has been sent back to parent club West Bromwich Albion and Simpson told the club's website: "I've been disappointed with his recent attitude."

New Zealand international striker Bright and ex-Brentford forward Elder only joined the club in the summer.

"Neither Bright nor Elder have settled in as I would've hoped," Simpson added.

Simpson felt Labadie had lost his way since being sent off at Morecambe at the beginning of October, while Bright and Elder had failed to live up to their pre-season expectations.

The Town manager was furious after the Staines defeat, holding a dressing room lock-in at the Prostar Stadium for 40 minutes after the final whistle.

"The players put on a performance that was disrespectful to the football club," he told BBC Radio Shropshire. "We were flat, and we got what we deserved."

Simpson also wants to send some of his younger professionals out on loan for valuable match experience.

The Town boss, who recently signed a contract extension at the club until 2012, added: "We have to learn from the weekend and hope that this is the lowest point of the season."
