Shrewsbury Town have signed Doncaster striker Waide Fairhurst and Hull winger Jamie Devitt on month-long loan deals.

Fairhurst, 20, has scored twice for Doncaster in the Championship this season, against West Brom and Ipswich.

Devitt, 19, who has just completed a month's loan at Darlington, scored against Shrewsbury in his final game.

"I'm here to score goals," Fairhurst told BBC Radio Shropshire. Devitt added: "I want to make an impression and show Hull what I can do."

Shrewsbury manager Paul Simpson was delighted with his double swoop after seeing his injury-hit side lose their last three games.

"Both players will add some spark to the side, which we need at the moment," he said.

The two hope to make Simpson's starting line-up at home to Aldershot on Saturday as top scorer Dave Hibbert and partner Jake Robinson are both injured. And Nathan Elder and Kris Bright have yet to prove themselves able replacements.
