Herd spent four years at Shrewsbury and made more than 150 appearances
Aldershot defender Ben Herd says he is looking forward to returning to Shrewsbury in Shots colours.
The 24-year-old full-back signed from the Prostar in July and has made seven league appearances for the Shots so far this season.
He told BBC Surrey: "It's a chance to prove people wrong, I had a great time up there.
"I'm looking forward to it and hopefully we can go there and do ourselves justice."
Herd is not surprised to see his former club, along with his current side, in amongst the play-offs zone.
"They've got good facilities and a bigger budget than Aldershot so in some ways it's expected for them to be up there.
"The fans are very much demanding up there and they expect to be promoted this season.
"Here, the expectation level is a lot different but we're playing some good football at the minute and we're doing OK and hopefully can push on in the next few weeks and get some good results."
