West Brom midfielder Joss Labadie has pledged to use his loan spell at Shrewsbury as the catalyst to make the grade in the Premier League.
"It's a big positive getting first-team experience at Shrewsbury," the 19-year-old told BBC Radio Shropshire.
"Every player wants to play in the Premier League, so a successful run with Shrewsbury will help my career."
And he is backing the Baggies for promotion: "They've started well, and I'd like to be with them at the top."
The Championship side have loaned Labadie to Shrewsbury for a second spell.
He was at the Prostar Stadium last season until picking up a metatarsal injury, and was allowed to return this season - initially for a month, but that has been extended to January.
He has a goal to his name too, hitting one on Shrewsbury's opening-day win over Burton last month.
"I speak a lot to Dan Ashworth, the West Brom technical director," Labadie added. "He texts me after every game, and he's been to see me a couple of times, so the club's keeping a close eye on me.
"Whether I improve and meet the Premier League standards is another thing, but I'm going to keep pushing and trying and hopefully get there - so every game at Shrewsbury is a chance for me to get better."
