Training sessions in Spain started at 0700 local time for the Town players
Manager Paul Simpson has hailed Shrewsbury Town's pre-season training camp in Spain a success.
"It was just what we wanted. The whole squad worked extremely hard, and fitness levels are right up," he said.
The players were pushed through at least two daily sessions and all should play a part at Northwich in Town's first friendly on 15 July at 1745 BST.
Winger Chris Humphrey, who has yet to sign a new contract with the League Two club, was missing.
"The work in Spain was invaluable," Simpson added. "There was hardly time to relax or take it easy, but it was a good fitness exercise and a good team-bonding exercise."
Simpson did reveal that there was an initiation ceremony for the new players. They had to sing to their colleagues after the evening meal.
Recently-signed Chris Neal came out on top for his rendition of Robbie Williams' Angels.
