Owls takeover dead, says Walker

Sheffield Wednesday

Sheffield Wednesday chief executive Kaven Walker has said that he believes Geoff Sheard's proposed takeover of the club is now dead.

The Lancashire-based businessman has been courting the Owls for the past 11 months without success.

"I don't think he [Sheard] has spoken to anybody recently, so you can draw your own conclusions to that," Walker told BBC Radio Sheffield.

"Personally, I think it's dead. That is my view."

Walker added: "The football club are talking to interested parties, and we continue to do so in the short term and long term.

"Everybody knows we are looking for new investment and that continues."
