Former Sheffield Wednesday chairman Dave Allen says the takeover of the club by the Geoff Sheard consortium could still happen.
Allan told BBC Radio Sheffield: "The Sheard bid doesn't cease with me until such time as he says it's all off and he hasn't done that."
In October fans group Wednesdayite said they would not sell their 10% stake to Sheard but Allen is still happy to.
"Anyone who comes in and takes those shares, I'm with him," Allen said.
Sheard had agreed in principle to buy Allen's 10% stake in the club in July.
In August, Wednesdayite agreed to sell their shares after a ballot of members.
But last month they withdrew that offer claiming Sheard had failed to meet their conditions of sale.
Sheard had been hoping to conclude similar deals with Wednesday directors Keith Addy and Geoff Hulley to buy their 10% stakes in order to acquire a controlling 29.9%.
Should Sheard still prove successful in his bid to convince Addy and Hulley to sell their shares, his consortium would not require Wednesdayite's stake.
