Laws has been in charge at Hillsborough for two years
Sheffield Wednesday manager Brian Laws has signed a contract extension at Hillsborough that will take him through to the summer of 2011.
Assistant manager Russ Wilcox has also agreed a corresponding contract.
Laws told BBC Radio Sheffield: "Stability is important and I'm pleased this has been sorted out.
"We also want to make sure the club is moving in the right direction and I wanted to be part of that. I never wanted to leave."
Laws, who joined the Owls from Scunthorpe in November 2006, was in the final year of his contract and had been linked with a move to former club Nottingham Forest.
He added: "When your contract is up for renewal you want it sorted out, as players do.
"I wanted to be reassured that we were going to be progressive and the board have answered those questions."
