Scunthorpe defender Kenny Milne faces career concern

Kenny Milne
Milne has played eight games in two seasons for Scunthorpe.

Scunthorpe's Kenny Milne faces fresh worries over his playing career after aggravating a knee problem.

The 30-year-old Scottish defender has ruptured the same injury that has forced him to miss most of his two-year spell at Glanford Park.

Iron manager Nigel Adkins told BBC Radio Humberside: "He's not signed a new contract yet and this is something we've got to talk about.

"Kenny has to make a decision himself but he's not where he needs to be at."

Milne joined on a free transfer from Falkirk in 2008 but suffered the injury in only his second appearance for the Championship club.

Following two knee operations and several comeback attempts, the centre-back eventually made six appearances in the latter half of the 2009/10 season.

Adkins added: "We all love Kenny and the club's spent a long, long time trying to help the player.

"The way he's conducted himself has been great, he's done everything he can but it comes to a stage where you have to ask where you draw a line and where do you go from here?"
