Hull boss Nigel Pearson says Jimmy Bullard should leave
Bullard's career at Hull has been blighted by injury
Hull City manager Nigel Pearson has said it is in the best interests of both parties for record signing Jimmy Bullard to leave the club.
However, club sources have told BBC Radio Humberside a potential move to Celtic is "definitely dead".
With the Tigers looking to reduce their wage bill, getting the club's highest earner off the books would ease the burden considerably.
However, Pearson added the situation would be reviewed "in two weeks' time".
Bullard looked set to join Celtic on a season-long loan until the move broke down last week amid claims the former Fulham midfielder was making excessive wage demands.
Bullard has not featured in any of the club's pre-season games so far, and Pearson told BBC Radio Humberside he will not be on the trip to Portugal this week.
However, the Hull boss said will not go so far as to draw a line under Bullard's future at the KC Stadium.
"We'll look at it as we get closer to the end of the [transfer] window but I'm not going to make statements that will close the door totally. We have to be sensible on that."
