We are just a day away from the new Blue Square Premier season and all the lads are buzzing around in training.
As people saw from the Bristol Rovers game, everyone is looking to be in that starting line-up come three o'clock.
The pre-season has gone well and the training and games have been very competitive.
Although pre-season games count for nothing once the season starts, it is important that everyone goes into the game in a positive frame of mind.
From that point of view, winning games and scoring goals certainly helps confidence.
The pre-season programme gave us some really good, tough matches and the likes of Port Vale, Swindon, Bristol Rovers, Bath and Southampton gave us a good test.
I think the fans would have been happy with some of those performances and, having kept hold of the majority of our squad from last season, we look in good shape to have a good go again this year.
This season will no doubt be another big test for us and will provide a different challenge from last year when, as the new boys to the league, we were an unknown quantity to a certain extent.
However, we must not be fooled into thinking because we had a top-half finish last time around that it will be easy for us.
I know from what I have heard people say about our team and achievements after games last season that they will be taking us very seriously this year and that will bring with it pressures to be at our best on every occasion.
Salisbury finished 12th last year in their first Blue Square Premier season (BBC)
The Ray Mac has become a tough place for people to come and try and win.
Just ask the likes of Exeter, Stevenage, Torquay, York and Oxford to name but a few of the bigger teams in the division.
This season, at home in particular, we may find teams sitting back and not wanting to get beaten so we will have to break teams down with our attacking flair and be a bit more patient at times.
As a club we all need to be together this season and I have no doubt the fans will again play a massive part in that, so as always get right behind us and lets see what happens.
One thing I know about the team is that we will always give it our best shot because as a group we all expect that of each other.
There will be times when we will not be having a great day and we need that little bit extra support and I know the fans will help us through.
Everyone's looking to kick on this season and the team spirit remains as good as ever.
The usual fines are in place and the banter is flying.
Ian Herring has taken on the role of chief fine collector and he has been busy putting together some look-a-likes for players in the squad.
I cant wait to see them.
I will keep you posted as to who he comes up with for certain players.
I look forward to seeing a big crowd for Saturday and be ready to cheer the lads on to hopefully a first win.
