Rushden & Diamonds manager Justin Edinburgh says he has matters in hand after a turbulent week for the club.
Tabloid newspaper reports about player unrest have disrupted Edinburgh's plans for the summer break.
Edinburgh told BBC Radio Northampton: "They're not the headlines the club want to be attracting or seeing.
"It wasn't pleasant, certainly off the back of a fantastic season, but we look forward. It's in hand, we're dealing with it internally."
He continued: "We had a special bond and spirit here last year.
"We've got to reproduce that next season and that's what I set out to achieve."
The former Tottenham Hotspur defender says he is close to signing a new contract with the beaten play-off semi-finalists.
He said: "I've agreed a deal in principle. I've shaken hands with the chairman, he's got my word and I'll be in charge of the club next season."
