Rushden and Diamonds captain Jamie Stuart says he is impressed with the way the team's defence is developing.
The 33-year-old marshals a Diamonds rearguard that has conceded just six goals away from home in the Blue Square Premier this season.
And although their record at Nene Park is less impressive, Stuart believes they are improving as a unit.
He told BBC Radio Northampton: "The more a back four play together, you develop more of an understanding."
Stuart has also been pleased with the individual efforts of his fellow defenders.
"I've been very impressed with Kurt Robinson," he said. "He's been consistent and there aren't many full-backs with his physique and power.
"It's hard to support Lee Tomlin when he goes on one of his runs but Kurt can keep up.
"I've been very pleased with Michael Corcoran and Curtis Osano, plus Simon Downer is a quality player who can come in and do a job."
