Walker scored for Aberdeen in a 2-2 UEFA Cup draw with Bayern Munich
Northampton Town have signed Middlesbrough midfielder Josh Walker on loan until January.
The 20-year-old captained England at Under-16 and Under-19 levels, and had loan spells at Bournemouth and Aberdeen before making his Premier League debut.
Cobblers' manager Ian Sampson told the club's website: "I think he will prove a great acquisition.
"Technically he has a lot of ability and he is really looking forward to showing what he can do."
Sampson added: "I didn't think he would be available but the chairman has done very well for us and Middlesbrough have also helped us out as well."
"He is a player I have known about for a couple of years and with (Northampton assistant coach) Malcolm Crosby coming in, he has just backed up my view of Josh."
Crosby arrived at Sixfields after five years with Middlesborough under Steve McLaren and Gareth Southgate.
