Rotherham have signed former loanee Ryan Cresswell from Bury on a three-year deal for an undisclosed fee.
The 22-year-old started his career as a Sheffield United trainee but spent most of his time out on loan.
He played 14 games for Halifax before joining the Millers for a month in 2007, making four appearances.
The Rotherham-born defender moved onto Morecambe and Macclesfield before arriving at Gigg Lane in July 2008, where he made 53 league starts.
