One-time Northern Ireland cap McEvilly is in his third spell with Rochdale
Cambridge United striker Lee McEvilly has sealed a permanent move to Rochdale following a one-month loan.
McEvilly, 26, has been deemed surplus to requirements at the Abbey Stadium and scored two goals in five League Two games at Spotland.
McEvilly did not score in open play in his last two months at Cambridge.
Having agreed to keep Peterborough's Scott Rendell on loan until the end of the season, the U's are unlikely to sign any more forwards this month.
Mark Beesley, Danny Crow and current first-choice Chris Holroyd will compete to play alongside Rendell.
Meanwhile, midfielder Danny Brown and goalkeeper Steven Drench have also left the club.
Brown, 28, has agreed a deal with Eastbourne Borough until the end of the season, whilst Drench, 23, has returned to Southport after his loan spell came to an end.
