Reading's Marcus Williams ready for Scunthorpe tie

Marcus Williams says getting three points for Reading is his only target as he faces his former club Scunthorpe in the Championship on Saturday.

Williams made 196 appearances for the Irons before signing on a free transfer to the Royals this summer.

"This Saturday, it will be business as usual and getting three points - that is all I am looking to do," Williams told BBC Berkshire.

"I'm just really glad that it's here and we can get it out of the way."

The left-back added that he has settled quickly into the Royals set-up after the warm hospitality of the club.

"All the boys and the staff have been great to me so far and I'm really happy to be here.

"I'm now completely comfortable and settled as the chance to sign so early on gave me the ability to go away and enjoy my holiday and then come back and get into shape as quickly as possible," he said.

Williams also has high hopes that a strong pre-season can help to propel Reading in the Championship.

"If we work hard, stay on top of our fitness, keep away from injury and continue our pre-season form then we're a great squad.

"If we stay strong, we can get the results that are required," he added.
