Port Vale's Lewis Haldane says he is ready to step up his comeback after playing for an hour in his side's 0-0 draw at Northampton.
It was the 25-year-old winger's first start of the season, coming a week after a substitute appearance in the FA Cup tie at Dartford.
Haldane had been out since suffering an infected insect bite in the summer.
"I'm willing to work twice as hard as everyone else to get back," he told BBC Radio Stoke.
Haldane had taken part in just five training sessions prior to the trip to Sixfields Stadium.
As a result, the player signed from Bristol Rovers in 2009 found the going tough.
"I didn't get too many touches and when I did I felt a bit rusty. Hopefully with a few more games the sharpness will come.
"It's to be expected that I feel a bit tired too but I'm just really glad to be back out on the pitch," he said.
