Anthony Griffith offered new two-year deal by Port Vale
Griffith is yet to score a goal in 89 games for Port Vale
Anthony Griffith will delay signing a new two-year contract at Port Vale until the end of the season.
The 23-year-old midfielder has been offered a new deal, but told BBC Radio Stoke that getting Vale into the League Two play-offs is his biggest concern.
"I know it's probably making the club wait, but I'd like to see the season through and then hopefully sit down and talk about it," said Griffith.
"Nothing's concrete yet, but they have put it down. We'll wait and see."
Griffith has made 89 appearances for Vale since joining on a free transfer from Doncaster in May 2008.
Vale go into Saturday's home game against Shrewsbury knowing they have to win to stand any chance of finishing in the top seven.
"It would be fantastic, unreal," added Griffith. "We won't jump the gun yet, but we'll keep our fingers crossed."
Griffith has collected 14 yellow cards this season and, if he is booked on Saturday, would miss the play-offs through suspension, should Vale progress.
