Sean Rigg started a league game for Vale for the first time at Grimsby
Port Vale manager Micky Adams has admitted that he will make a decision on the future of on-loan striker Sean Rigg when his deal expires on Saturday.
The Bristol Rovers forward, 21, scored his first goal for the Valiants in Monday's 2-1 win against Grimsby.
His loan deal is due to end after Vale's game at bottom club Darlington.
Adams will also speak to Jason Jarrett, whose short-term deal has ended, before deciding whether to offer the 30-year-old midfielder a new contract.
Jarrett, who is now with his 14th professional club, has started 10 games since joining Vale in September.
As far as we're concerned he's our player, but you should never say that until he's signed on the dotted line
Micky Adams on the transfer of Lewis Haldane
Adams is also waiting on the transfer of Lewis Haldane, also from Bristol Rovers, which he hopes will be completed by the time Vale play Darlington on 2 January.
He told BBC Radio Stoke: "I haven't spoken to Lewis since Christmas Eve.
"We've agreed everything. It's just a matter of making sure it's done and dusted at Bristol Rovers' end.
"As far as we're concerned, he's our player, but you should never say that until he's signed on the dotted line."
Vale won for only the sixth time in League Two this season at Blundell Park, thanks to goals from Rigg and Rob Taylor.
But Taylor's late red card, in conceding a penalty from Grimsby striker Barry Conlon, set up a nervy finale.
"It just goes to show that incidents in games can change them dramatically," said Adams. "For 87 minutes we looked like coming away with a comfortable victory.
"But credit to the boys, they dug deep and held on for the result they deserved."
