Jamie Guy has said that he does not expect to walk straight into the Port Vale first team after arriving on loan from Colchester United.
Guy, 22, made his debut from the bench against Stockport in the Johnstone's Paint Trophy at Vale Park on Tuesday.
Strikers Lewis Haldane, Louis Dodds and Marc Richards all scored in a 3-1 win.
"It's not going to be easy to move those players out of the team, but when I get that chance, hopefully I'll take it," he told BBC Radio Stoke.
"They were three very well worked goals and it was a good performance from the lads on the night."

Guy was due to sign for the Valiants before the start of the season, but a knee injury forced him to return to the Community Stadium.
"It's good to be back, I'm fully over the injury now," Guy added.
"I've worked with [Vale manager] Micky Adams before, and he's not scared of running the lads so I'm sure I'm in for a lot of running."
Guy, who has also had loan spells at Cambridge, Oxford and Dagenham, is likely to remain on the bench for Vale's trip to Shrewsbury on Saturday.
