Danny Whitaker has rejected Port Vale's initial offer of a new contract.

Whitaker is one of a small number of players from the squad relegated to League Two who has been offered a new deal at Vale Park.

But negotiations between the midfielder and manager Lee Sinnott have stalled and Whitaker has now been told to listen to offers from other clubs.

The 27-year-old, who joined the Valiants from Macclesfield in 2006, has scored 15 goals in his 98 games.
