Gallagher has been Argyle's top scorer this season
Plymouth manager Paul Sturrock will discuss the future of striker Paul Gallagher's season-long loan deal with new Blackburn boss Sam Allardyce.
The 24-year-old Scot joined Argyle in September from Rovers and is Plymouth's top scorer with seven goals.
"A new manager might want to see all his players," Sturrock told BBC Devon.
"I'm hoping to have a chat with Sam and to get a better idea and for him to look at Paul in the first couple of weeks of January playing for us."
Sturrock, who plans to chat with Allardyce early next week, wants the striker to stay at Home Park.
"You don't want to lose that kind of quality, but football has a terrible way of kicking you in the teeth at times, but fingers crossed," said Sturrock.
"I'm not going to make any real decision on it until I've chatted to Sam.
"I'm very hopeful we can sort something out because the benefit that this player has had playing here has been immense for him and great for us."
