Plymouth Argyle boss Paul Sturrock says the side that beat Watford 2-1 at Vicarage Road on Tuesday gave him the "honest" performance he wanted.
Sturrock described his players as "dishonest" after their defeat at home by Norwich and made seven changes.
He told BBC Radio Devon: "I went for a very honest, hardworking team tonight and they came up with the goods.
"The players who were not involved tonight have got to be receptive to what we're looking for."
He added: "If they want to be in this team they've got to churn out the performances that were out the tonight."
And Sturrock says that the large number of changes in his squad could be the reason the team got off to such a bad start.
"It's been a very traumatic start to the season. We've had the turmoil of change of personnel which I do feel has affected the results."
