Easter set to stay with Plymouth

Plymouth Argyle's Wales striker Jermaine Easter is to stay on at Home Park, less than a month after asking to leave the Pilgrims.

The 26-year-old began looking for a new side after domestic problems meant he became unsettled in Devon.

But Argyle boss Paul Sturrock told his club's website: "He has committed himself once again."

Easter joined Plymouth from Wycombe on a permanent basis in January after a two-month loan spell.

Sturrock now hopes Easter will fight to regain his place in an Argyle side that remains winless this season.

"He has never really been on the transfer list and it is up to him now to make himself a regular," Sturrock explained.

"His circumstances have been a problem but he realises football is an important part of his life and he has to get on with it.

"He has to fight himself into this team first because, if he is laying about here and not playing to the standards I know he can achieve, he won't be able to move on to the standards he would like, if he was still in that frame of mind."
