Josh Simpson hails Jim Gannon Peterborough impact

Peterborough United midfielder Josh Simpson
Simpson has made 10 appearances for Posh since joining from Histon

Peterborough United midfielder Josh Simpson has said boss Jim Gannon has brought greater organisation to the club since his arrival last month.

Gannon has managed two wins from his four matches in charge so far.

Former Histon player Simpson, 22, told BBC Radio Cambridgeshire: "He's a perfectionist and very organised and everyone knows their roles now.

"We know more about who we are up against and that is hugely important come the matches."

Prior to Gannon's arrival, Posh had managed just three league wins all season; two under Darren Ferguson and one with Mark Cooper.

Simpson believes attention to detail has been the key to their success in recent games.

"We work on a lot of different formations in training and we know what we can do to change things during games," he said.

"If something is going right during a game then he will leave it, but if something needs changing we all now our roles and how to go about it."

Simpson joined Posh from Histon in January after a spell on loan from the Blue Square Premier side.

He was working as a delivery driver while playing for the Stutes and admits the past few months have been a bit of a whirlwind.

"I've been here just over three months and have had three different managers so I guess I'm getting used to it now," he said.

Meanwhile, defender Ryan Bennett has been ruled out for up to a month with an ankle problem, but Gabby Zakuani has finally shaken off a groin problem and should be available as cover against Swansea on Saturday.
